The Great Pumpkin Patch is truly a great way to experience a pumpkin patch with kids. There's plenty to do and the a la carte admission makes it an affordable day of fall fun. It's well worth the ride up 65!
We started with the jumpies. The big boys were fearless, but it was Small Fry's first time and he yo-yo'd from absolutely loving it to being in tears.
Then it was time for a break so we headed to picnic tables for some down time and a snack. After which, the kids found some awesome dirt to dig in. Whatever keeps them happy! These boys love to make "mountains" of dirt and get sticks to stand up straight in them.
And then we were off on the hayride to the pumpkin patch. The boys convinced me we needed two pumpkins instead of just one, and they both had fun picking theirs.
We had a little more time before we needed to head for lunch (a Chick-Fil-A stop in Gardendale to split up the drive -- and keep the babies from falling asleep!) and get on home for nap time. We stopped for a hilarious photo op and then let the boys ride the horses.
