May Recap.

Summer, summer, summertime! Our trip to Sandestin was a fabulous way to start the summer. Nothing like a little sand and sun! And, oh how excited I am about a routine-free couple of months. I'm a routine girl, but by the end of the school year, enough is enough, and it's time for some down time all around.

The boys had been itching for some Birmingham fun, so when we returned from Sandestin we hit the ground running. So far, check these off the summer bucket list:

Birmingham Zoo -- animal watching and the fountains!

Happy, water-logged brothers.

Gardendale Splash Pad -- we even ran into some church friends with their nanny

They were much happier than they look! And, they were super-pumped when the ice cream man arrived.

Hiking at The Preserve -- thank goodness Pops joined us and was our personal GPS

Tadpole catching

Leeds Memorial Park -- minnow catching + awesome slide riding = great morning of fun

McWane Center

Southern Museum of Flight

Airplane pilots hard at work.

Spain Park

Dinner with the Hendersons

Pool Time at Mema and Abou's

Meet our new pool riding buddies -- Fluffy and Fire.

Bike Riding at MBPC

Day Trip to Lake Martin

Do you think we tired them out?

Strolls to Magic Muffins and Overton Park (PS, these make me so tired that I don't even have the energy to get out the iPhone for a picture...4+ miles with the double stroller and the boys...wow!)

We also had some funny moments -- like the time I gave Small Fry a plum and he ate the whole thing -- pit and ALL! No permanent damage it doesn't seem, but that child is CRAZY! And some really proud moments -- like the time Fawn learned to ride his bike without training wheels (after only two lessons from Buck). Wow!

And, we ended the month celebrating our eleventh anniversary with a fun, yummy dinner at Dram. A perfect end to a great month of making memories.
